A hungry 12-lb pike measuring nearly 3 feet in length (32″ to be exact) went after the wrong prey when it caught a 3-lb carp measuring 10″ long in the waters of Hermitage Fisheries in Suffolk, England. The carp got stuck in the pike’s maw and both fishes eventually died from lack of oxygen as they suffocated in the fishery. The owner of the fishery, David Walker, rowed out to retrieve the two fishes and displayed them for the camera. He had planned on stuffing the fish to be put on display but relented when the taxidermist quoted him a rate of US$39.29 per inch or US$1257.28 for the entire 32-inch pike. Walker buried the pike on the groundsĀ of the fishery.

Please get your facts right. The pike was 12 lb and 32 inches in length. The 3 lb carp inside was 10 inches in length. Thats 42 inches x GBP25 an inch = GBP1050 = US $1698…
