The skeleton of a vampire?

A 700-year-old skeleton found with an iron rod embedded in its chest cavity appears on the viewing screen of a journalist’s camera at the National History Museum in Sofia, Bulgaria, on June 14, 2012. The skeleton is one of two discovered by archaeologists in Bulgaria and local media has been reporting that rods were once shoved through the chests of suspected vampires to prevent them from emerging from the grave as a member of the bloodsucking undead. The skeleton will be available for viewing to the public on June 16, 2012.Photo credit: Valentina Petrova / AP
