BMW CE 04 is an EV scooter with a sci-fi film style but a very real price label

BMW has revealed the latest EV, with a new 2022 BMW CE 04 for two wheels as the BMW Motorrad Division includes electrification in the city. Borrowing a lot from the tron-esque vibration of the BMW Motorrad 2017 electric motorbike, which he was inspired by the BMW motor Definition of CE 04 – teaser approached the final of this two-wheel production – the final result was suitable for Tetsuo Akira.

But unlike motorbike films and animations, BMW CE 04 is no prop or sketch. Instead BMW Motorrad said it would be launched in the US in Q1 2022, labeled the price of $ 11,795.

Your money will give you a 42 horsepower electric motor, with 44 lb-ft torque. The 8.9 kwh battery may be small in the term EV, but it is quite here for an estimated range of 80 miles. Perfect, BMW bicycle division argues, for urban trips working days and even for weekend jaunts. There are three standard driving modes – Eco, Rain, and Road – and dynamic modes that are not locked with a premium package that adds higher acceleration. 0-30 MPH comes in just 2.6 seconds, while 0-62 mph takes 9.1 seconds.

The highest speed is 75 mph, with a permanent magnet which is cooled to liquid 156 electric motors positioned in the frame, between batteries and rear wheels. The Tunggal Primary Gearbox Link to a toothed belt before the power hit the rear wheel. Like the BMW EV four wheels, there is regenerative braking support.

For more serious top-ups, there is support for filling levels 2. At the 240V 6.9 KW outlet you see a full cost in 1 hour 40 minutes, said BMW; 45 minutes will take you from 20 to 80 percent. With a 120V level 1 outlet, starting from 0 to 100 percent is around 4 hours and 20 minutes; BMW has also been built in storage compartments for cables on the right side of the bike.

In front of the twin disc brakes, with a single rear disk system and ABS as standard. The side-side automatically involves parking brakes when deployed. Dynamic traction control (DTC) is optional, safer acceleration that promises especially when leaning. Standard 15-inch wheels.

Of course, the most striking part is style. “The new BMW CE 04 is a link between the world of analog and digital users,” Edgar Heinrich, head of the BMW Motorrad design, Espels. “This is a means of transportation and communication facilities for large city commuters.”

It’s long and low, with a sleek color and duo-tone color scheme. “Floating” chairs will be finished in different colors depending on the body. Thanks to EV DriveTrain, it can be more practical: there is a large enough storage compartment accessed through the side door, for example.

The driver gets a 10.25-inch full HD display as a standard, with mapping connectivity and smartphones; BMW has a different layout, including the Split screen UI that shows driving metrics, navigation, and power details. Multicontroler handlebar control navigates through the interface, while there are weather resistant boxes – and ventilated – for smartphones with USB charging in it.

The front and rear LED lights are standard, with BMW CE 04 offering an optional adaptive headlamp that rotates with angle.

That part of what BMW Motorrad said was an inevitable transition to electrification for two wheels, at least for urban mobility. “Just like CE 04, all new BMW motorcycle models in the future for urban mobility will be pure electricity,” Oliver Zipse, BMW AG CEO, confirmed.
