If you want to secure a new OLED variant from the Nintendo switch before the October 8 release date, now is your chance. In the US, pre-orders will open at 3pm ET today and we have seen the console registered at Best Buy, B & H, Gamestop and other retailers.
The latest switches come with a larger 7-inch OLED screen, as well as 64GB of internal storage, a redesigned kickstand, “enhanced audio” and a new doc that adds a cable LAN port. Nintendo will offer a $ 350 console in two colorways when launched: red and blue classical neon, and black and white.
What you won’t find in this switch version is a new chipset. Towards the OLED model announcement at the beginning of the month, there is a planned Nintendo report to enter the updated SOC with NVIDIA DLSS tech to allow the console to the output game on 4K. It didn’t happen, but it wasn’t told the “Pro” switch outside the table.
Whether the OLED switch represents the opportunity missed, we hope the demand for the console will easily exceed the supply. In May, President Nintendo Shuntaro Furukawa told investors that the company still argues with the problem of production, and the lack of global semiconductors is not expected to end in the near future.
