Sony has revealed a cheaper speaker model that looks like a lamp. Audiophile who is aware of the style will be able to order the LSPX-S3 glass sound speaker starting in August.
Bluetooth enabled devices feature organic glass tweeters with three actuators that allow it to spend in all directions, according to Sony. The company claims tweeters “produce clear and strong high notes” and spread healthy evenly throughout space. LSPX-S3 has a 46mm speaker unit and you can adjust the level through the Sony Music Center application. It also has LDAC support for high resolution audio.
The speaker won’t turn on the whole room, but the illumination of the blinking candle style must provide a comfortable atmosphere to read at night. LEDs can pulsate synchronous with music and there are several lighting modes and brightness levels.
You can take the LSPX-S3 outdoors too. It weighs around 1.1kg and has a battery that Sony says can power the device up to eight hours with a vehicle charging once. You can refill through the USB-C charging port.
There are also options to link two units for stereo playback and can form parts of multi-room audio systems. In addition, the speaker has an internal microphone for calls, metal base and cloth base.
Nearly six years ago, Sony first showed off a prototype for stylish products. The company released LSPX-S2 in Japan in 2019 and took it to the US the following year. LSPX-S3 will cost $ 350 / £ 315 / € 350, which is around $ 100 cheaper than the previous model. It’s not clear when Sony will start sending speakers.
