While the region can be easily overlooked by those who are only familiar with one coast or the other, there is plenty of excitement right in the middle. 

The image of the Midwest is one that everyone loves. It’s all the open space, wonderful small towns and the endless explorable nature that we all picture. While that image rings true, the region is also home to its fair share of cites that rival the ones you might know from either coast. Chicago

The Windy City’s reputation precedes it. Even if you haven’t had the chance to visit Chicago, you know what makes the city so exciting. First things first, the pizza makes it famous. There’s two types of people when it comes to opinions on deep-dish pizza. You’ll find those who love it and those who haven’t been lucky enough to try it. 

Pizza can’t be the only thing that’s going on there, right? Don’t worry, there’s plenty more action in Chi-City. Given it’s a pizza city, you know they love works of art. To see some of the world’s best creative works (besides pizza) the Art Institute of Chicago holds over 300,000 unique pieces.

Indianapolis

Indy might be best known for the Indianapolis 500 but that’s not all that’s going on here. The race is one of the most famous in the world and is sure to always draw a crowd but that’s not the only option when it comes to exciting sports action. The city is also the home of the Indianapolis Colts for the die-hard football fans and the Indiana Pacers for those who love basketball more than anything else.

What makes Minneapolis so great is that it’s the perfect mix of all the urban comforts one expects and loves but nature is never out of reach. The city feels a little under the radar for now, but as more and more people realize its proximity to the Chain O’Lakes, the nature lovers are sure to flood in. 

If nature isn’t your thing but music is, it’s still worth planning a visit to Minneapolis. The main reason that’s the case is the First Avenue club. You might not know the name but you’ve probably seen it as it was used in the filming of Prince’s Purple Rain film.
