Located on the shores of the Ganges River in Uttar Pradesh, 320 kilometers southeast of the state capital Lucknow, we can find the imposing Varanasi, a treasure of India known primarily for being one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) of the Hinduism and Jainism, to the point that Hindus believe that dying in Varanasi will lead them to salvation.
In addition, it is one of the oldest regions of the continent and one of the most populated cities in the world.
City of much popularity
Because of its strong spiritual ties, Varanasi is considered the spiritual capital of India, and has its good historical roots considering that many books of great cultural importance have been written in this city, and not to mention that the University is located there Benares Hindu.

But, as we said previously, Varanasi is characterized by its religious history, and there are more than 23,000 temples within it, and those that we recommend that you tour first are the Kashi Vishwanath, the Sankat Mochan Hanuman, and the Durga Temple.
