Alec Baldwin (born Alexander Rae Baldwin III on April 3, 1958 in Amityville, New York) is an American actor, producer and comedian. Alec was raised in Massapequa. He attended Washington University and transferred to NYU’s Tisch School of the humanities . He left school to pursue acting, appearing within the serial The Doctors from 1980 to 1982. His breakout came together with his role in Knots Landing from 1984-85. In 1987, Alec made his film debut in 1987’s Forever, Lulu. The following year, he had roles in Beetlejuice and Dealing Girl, but received recognition as a number one man in 1990’s The search for Red October. His additional film roles include Prelude to a Kiss, The Getaway, The Aviator and therefore the Departed. Alec also features a memorable and sometimes quoted scene in 1992’s Glengarry Glen Ross. He was nominated for an Academy Award and Golden Globe for his role in 2003’s The Cooler. Alec’s most noted success came from portraying Jack Donaghy in Tina Fey’s NBC sitcom, 30 Rock. Alec won two Emmys, two Golden Globes and 7 movie actor Guild Awards for that role.
